The Government of Maldives on Tuesday has declared border reopening on 15 July 2020.
As such, Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih made the declaration on Tuesday afternoon during public aired conference.
Earlier, Maldives government announced its plan for border reopening and resumption of international travels.
Meanwhile the island nation continues to observe a ban on international travels, resulting in complete cessation of flight movements to the country.
As such, this led to the tourism industry hitting stagnation.
Moreover, the wind down of activities in tourism sector meant the county’s economy taking the impact.
In order to revive and alleviate the economic regression the government kicked off several initiatives prior to the border reopening.
Meanwhile, several hospitality groups are gearing up to reopen their tourist properties once again.
