Covid-19 testing center at Maafaru Int’l Airport opens


The Covid-19 testing center developed by Soneva Group at Maafaru International Airport opens officially on Tuesday, 14 July 2020.

The testing center was opened during an online ceremony by Minister of Health Abdulla Ameen and founder and owner of ADK Group Ahmed Nashid.

Furthermore, Soneva Group founder Sonu Shivdasani and the General Manager of Velaa Private Island took part in Tuesday’s ceremony.

Moreover the facility saw completion within a month’s time, while ADK Group saw the project as its contractor.

Additionally the center allows up to 700 testings on a daily basis.

Meanwhile, its developer confirm the center provides results within 24-hours.

The testing center comes as an initiative as Maldives tourism industry expect resuscitation from 15 July onward.

Earlier, Maldives government made the announcement of reopening borders and lifting travel restrictions.

Meanwhile, the government made affirmation of safe tourism guidelines ensuring safety for travelers.

Although government earlier made declaration of on-arrival quarantine, it has since made revocation of the decision.
