Over 400 tourists fly to Maldives post border reopening

Tourist arrivals in 2020 fell sharply due to Covid-19 pandemic

Maldives reports over 400 tourists flying in to the country since border reopening.

As such, statistics indicate a total of 443 tourists have since come to Maldives in 3 days time.

Moreover, Maldives Immigration made confirmation of statistics to one of local media outlets.

The department ensures it was currently compiling additional information of tourist arrivals.

Earlier, Wednesday – 15 July – Maldives government officially reopened the country’s borders lifting a three month long restriction on international travels.

So far international carriers such as Qatar Airways, Sri Lankan, Emirates and Etihad Airways recommenced their operations to Maldives.
