Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday confirms mobilizing to Raa atoll Rasmaadhoo harbor upgrade project.
As such, the contractor confirms the mobilization took off on 26 July 2020 following EIA approval.
The EIA, or Environment Impact Assessment is mandatory prior to projects pertaining to modification of natural structures such as lagoons.
Moreover, MTCC remarks the project total reaches MVR18.7 million.
Earlier, Maldives government awarded the project to MTCC on 10 December 2019.
According to the contractor, the project includes dredging and excavation operations spanning 9,000 cubic meters and a 377 meters revetment construction.
Additional tasks entailing the project include construction of a 600 square meters pavement.
Furthermore, MTCC will see to the installation of navigation lights and two street arm lights along with mooring bouys.
