Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Tuesday confirms commencing installation of precast concrete blocks for quay wall at Fehendhoo.
Moreover, the contractor remarks the work as part of the overall harbor development project in the island.
According to MTCC the scope of work for the project includes channel dredging operations of 25,000 cubic meters.
Furthermore, harbor basin dredging operations of 18,500 cubic meters also comprise under project components.
Other project components include installation of the 214 meter quay wall, of which work is currently ongoing.
Additionally, MTCC will construct 130 meters of breakwater and 282 meters of revetment.
The contractor will further install navigational and streetlights along with development of a paved area spanning 558 square meters.
MTCC notifies the project value at MVR49.66 million with mobilization taking place on 10 November 2019.
