Maldives government spend MVR2,323 million (MVR2.3 billion) towards Covid-19 efforts, confirms Ministry of Finance.
Furthermore, the government body confirms total health and social spending as of 01 October stood at MVR1,287.7 million (MVR1.3 billion).
On the other hand, the total economic response spending for the review period stood at MVR1,035.3 million (MVR1.03 billion).
The health and social effort spending saw just a 0.3% increment from that of the previous week.
Meanwhile 48.8% of spending under this category remains as committed spending.
Ministry of Health’s spending curve remains higher than its peers with MVR1.5 million extra.
According to the latest Weekly Covid-19 Spending Report, NDMA, Ministry of Health and IGMH account for 88.3% of all health and social spending tied with Covid-19.
As for economic response spending, the component saw a 2.1% increment from the previous week.
Total disbursements towards Income Support Scheme stood at MVR101.3 million.
Moreover, Covid-19 Recovery Loan Scheme and discount on electricity bills stood at MVR900.0 million and MVR34.0 million, respectively.
The review week also registers additional disbursements of MVR4.5 million and MVR17.0 million, to NSPA and utility companies.
