State spend MVR2.6bn towards Covid-19 efforts


Maldives government spend MVR2,629.2 million (MVR2.6 billion) towards Covid-19 efforts so far.

Moreover, as per Ministry of Finance state’s spending towards health and social efforts as of 29 October 2020 stood at MVR1,307.2 million (MVR1.3 billion).

The spending on health and social efforts saw a 0.8% increase from the previous week, reports Ministry of Finance.

Furthermore, in terms of week-on-week spending, NDMA registers the highest in comparison with its peers at MVR7.5 million.

On the other hand, the total economic response spending by the review period stood at MVR1,322.0 million, marking a 14.7% increase from the previous week.

Moreover, disbursements to partner banks stood at MVR153.5 million – put towards Covid-19 Recovery Loan Scheme.

Additionally, MVR5.2 million, disbursed to NSPA for the Income Support Allowance.

Another MVR10.8 million in disbursement to utility companies for discounts on bills.
