We Are Proud to Have Invested in Maldives: Hilton

Daniel Welk, Vice President, Luxury and Lifestyle, Asia Pacific, Hilton has stated that Hilton is proud to have invested in the Maldives.

Speaking at the GM Forum 2018, Welk noted that Hilton was the first international brand to open in the Maldives. He stated that Hilton will open a Waldorf Astoria collection resort in the Maldives sometime later this year.

“Hilton was the first international brand to open in the Maldives, twenty years ago. We are advertising the Maldives as a must-visit attraction,” Welk stated.

Welk added that they are proud of their achievements in their investments in the Maldives, citing the first-ever underwater restaurant in the world – built in Conrad. The first-ever overwater villas were also built Conrad, he noted.

“The tourism sector will expand in the Maldives. With the development of the airport, thousands of tourists are expected to visit Maldives,” Welk stated.

He called the underwater life and the beaches in the Maldives incomparable.

Welk described the natural beauty of the Maldives as timeless adding that no one can deny the fact or be bored at the island nation.

He stated that the underwater residence currently under construction in Conrad will open in November, and is believed to attract tourists from across the globe to experience the pristine underwater life in the Maldives.
