The tourism industry of Maldives appears to be sailing on the seas of recovery as the country attracts over 100,000 travelers so far in 2021.
Moreover, Ministry of Tourism in their latest update reports a total of 102,107 international travelers visiting the island nation as of 06 February 2021.
Statistics further reveal a total of 10,004 holidaymakers visiting Maldives in the last four-day period.
Furthermore, the tourist arrival for the review period shows 49.5% increment from the corresponding period of 2020.
According to the ministry, Russia holds top rank as the strongest individual tourist market.
As such, arrivals from the country stood at 22,178 so far in the current year.
The cumulative arrival from Russia shares 21.7% of the total tourist arrivals as of the review period.
On the other hand, India holds second position with 20,027 arrivals with a share of 19.6%.
Surprisingly, Ukraine stands at third rank with a share of 7.2% which translates to 7,373 arrivals.
