State revenue collection drop 30.9% in February 2021

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) report a total revenue collection of MVR994.12 million for the month of February 2021.

Moreover, the taxation and revenue authority note the total collection saw a decrement of 30.9% in comparison with the corresponding month of 2020.

MIRA reports the dwindle in revenue is subject to the prevalence of Covid-19 pandemic.

Furthermore, major tax sources observe decline in the review month as well.

Although revenue saw drop in comparison with corresponding month of 2020, it is still a 41.2% increment from the initial projection.

Meanwhile, state made a collection of 41.71 million in US Dollars.

Total tax revenue collection in review month stood at MVR886.4 million, whereas non-tax total stood at 107.7 million.
