Restaurant restrictions remain unrelaxed

Health Protection Agency (HPA) of Maldives on Thursday, 18 March 2021, announces stretching restrictive measures by another week.

Earlier, HPA took the decision of restricting restaurant opening hours until 20:00hrs every evening.

Moreover, the authority restricted delivery services past 22:30hrs every evening.

The decisions had come at a time when local small to medium tier ventures collectively made declaration over possibility of insolvency or redundancy.

Meanwhile, top brass of Restaurant Association of Maldives (RAM) met with Director General of Public Health Ms. Maimoona Aboobakur addressing their concerns.

On the other hand, another association; Maldives Eateries Union is gearing up for protests against the health body.

The union warns closing off local restaurants, cafeterias and takeaway businesses until HPA provides proper leniency.
