Dollar revenue observe 11% drop on YTD terms

Tourism sector is largely considered as the strongest economic element of generating income receipts to Maldives state

The revenue collection made on US Dollars observe a dip of 11% so far in 2021, reports MIRA.

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) reports a revenue collection of USD151 million from January until review period.

Moreover, in the corresponding period of 2021 the revenue collection in US Dollars stood at 171 million.

MIRA attributes the largest revenue share for the first three months of 2021, to Tourism Land Rent, which stood at USD25 million. On the other hand, the revenue stream reports just USD11 million of collection during the same period last year.
