State expenditure hit MVR8.9bn, deficit bump up to MVR2.8bn


The state expenditure of Maldives government reaches MVR8,875.6 million (MVR8.9 billion) as of 29 April 2021.

Moreover, state revenue inclusive of grants for the same period hit MVR6,113.3 million (MVR6.1 billion).

Expenditure composition reveals 76% of the total spent on recurrent expenses and 24% on capital expenses.

On the other hand, revenue composition identifies 80% of income as tax earnings and 20% non-tax earnings.

The overall balance for the period is a deficit of MVR2,762.3 million (MVR2.8 billion).

Meanwhile, net issuance for the week from 25 to 29 April stood at a deficit of MVR301.9 million.

Cumulative total of tax revenue as of 29 April hit MVR4,880.8 million (MVR4.9 billion).

On the other hand, cumulative total of non-tax revenue reaches MVR1,169.9 million (MVR1.2 billion) as of 29 April 2021.
