MIRA reports 82.6% revenue increment for April 2021

Tourism acts as a major revenue churner for Maldives

Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) reports a revenue total of MVR1.41 billion in April 2021.

Moreover, the revenue collection for the previous week marks a considerable 173.8% increment from the same month in 2020.

On the other hand, collections for review month mark a 82.6% improvement from initial forecast.

The taxation authority reports increment of TGST, GGST and Green Tax factors for the revenue bump in April.

Furthermore, Airport Development Fee and Airport Service Charge catalyzed the state revenue collection.

GST covers the largest portion of the revenue composition, taking up 60.1% of the share which is a total of MVR849.61 million.

Tourism Land Rent collection held a share of 9.8% out of the total which is MVR139.12 million.

Green Tax collection in the review month stood at MVR95.54 million.
