Sri Lanka’s Aitken Spence is to open a resort under the Heritance brand in the Maldives.

The property is located in Aarah island in Raa Atoll and is to open later this year.

Reportedly, Aitken Spence had invested around US$ 50 million into the property. It was also reported that the newest addition to the Heritance collection features 51 beach villas, 10 family beach villas, 10 pool beach villas, four family pool beach villas, 56 water villas, 25 luxury water villas and a presidential suite. The resort will also be home to four restaurants.

Additionally, the five star resort will feature a six room over water spa, water sports, PADI certified dive center, kids club, tennis court and a gym.

Aitken Spence runs over 24 resorts and hotels in India, Sri Lanka, Oman and the Maldives. Six resorts under the Adaaran brand are also part of the Aitken Spence group.

This is the first resort in the Maldives under the Heritance brand.
