Guraidhoo harbor development project at 60% completion

The work on design and development of Thaa atoll Guraidhoo is well underway, reports project contractor: MTCC.

According to Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), the project has already observed 60% completion while the first shipment of rock boulders required for quay wall construction have been delivered to project site on 06 July – last week.

The project scope consists of dredging and excavation operations spanning 24,485 cubic meters.

Meanwhile, the contractor will commence construction of the breakwater soon though the date had not been disclosed. The structure will span 325 meters after completion.

Additional components under the project include the construction of a quay wall spanning 185 meters and a revetment spanning just 22 meters. In addition to this, MTCC will install a paved area spanning 1,875 square meters.

The contractor reports the project valuation at a total of MVR46.01 million.
