State spend MVR3.6bn towards Covid-19 curbing efforts

Maldives government has spent a total of MVR3,577.8 million (MVR3.6 billion) towards Covid-19 related efforts.

According to Ministry of Finance, the total health and social spending of state has reached MVR1,804.9 million (MVR1.8 billion) so far. Moreover, the figure as reported on 01 July 2021, shows a 0.9% increment from the week before.

Furthermore, the state body attests that 41.1% of the expenditure on health and social causes for the review period had been committed spending.

On the other hand, the total disbursements made to Economic Response Plan schemes stood at MVR1,772.9 million (MVR1.77 billion), which remains unchanged from the previous week.

It was reported that the state had made a disbursement of MVR29.4 million during the review week, towards utility companies for the implementation of the new discount on electricity bills.

Additionally, no further disbursements were recorded for the review period.
