Dhiraagu, Women in Tech Maldives open registration for new “Girls to Code” program


The continued coding boot-camp initiative by Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives have opened registration window for their third-program camp.

Moreover, the third round of “Girls to Code” will take place in Kulhudhuffushi City, Haa Dhaal atoll for a duration of two months.

The coding boot-camp series is a joint initiative aimed towards teaching girls on the practices and ethics of coding as well as providing them an academic introduction into the field of technology.

Furthermore, according to both Dhiraagu and Women in Tech Maldives their prime objective of the boot-camp remains on creating interest in technology as well as increasing the involvement of women in the technological sector.

Classes under the coding camp will run virtually, starting from 29 August and will be focused towards girls aged between 14 to 20 years.

Participants are not required to posses prior knowledge or experience in computer programming or any other field related to technology. Moreover, the participation in the coding camp is free of charge.

As per the organizers, participants will receive a thorough rundown on popular coding languages such as HTML, CSS and Javascript through the coding camp.

Interested participants can submit their filled registration at https://girlstocodemv2021 on or before 15 August 2021.

“Girls to Code” first commenced in 2019, with its very first program held at Fuvahmulah City. The initiative was met with a warm reception and positive string of feedbacks, resulting in the second program under the series which was held in Gaaf Dhaal atoll Thinadhoo earlier in 2021.
