BML staff execute community projects to mark World Humanitarian Day

Bank of Maldives (BML) staff along with volunteers have supported and executed several community projects to commemorate World Humanitarian Day.

Moreover, the national bank of the island nation confirms that the community projects were carried out at a total of 6 different local islands, which include;

  • Sh. Funadhoo
  • N. Manadhoo
  • F. Nilandhoo
  • Th. Guraidhoo
  • G.Dh. Thinadhoo
  • Addu City (Hithadhoo)

Furthermore, the activities carried out by BML staff and volunteers were initiated “to bring a positive change and contribute to the community.” The activities at these six islands include;

  • The public hut in Sh. Funadhoo harbor area – renovated and upgraded with new seating areas, lighting and furnishing
  • N. Manadhoo eastern beach area – upgraded with 25 ‘joali’ seating along with swing for kids
  • F. Nilandhoo beach area – upgraded with new seating, dustbins and barbeque area with new shower installation
  • Th. Guraidhoo Youth Center – renovation of the center with painting on exterior and interior walls with replacement of lights
  • G.Dh. Thinadhoo Museum Park – painting works
  • S. Hithadhoo – clean up and redevelopment of Hankeda picnic area with installation of dustbins and public information signage
