Angolhitheem harbor development observes 53% progress

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Thursday, 02 September, confirmed on the latest progress of the harbor development project at Raa atoll Angolhitheem.

Moreover, the contractor had assured that the work on the design and build of the harbor in the island is strongly proceeding forward with an overall 53% progress observed as of the reporting date.

The scope of the project includes dredging and excavation operations of 42,615 cubic meters along with structure constructions.

As such, MTCC will construct a breakwater, revetment and quay wall measuring 221 meters, 166 meters and 91 meters respectively. In addition to this, the contractor is expected to install 1,110 square meters of paved area along the harbor site.

Other components of the project include the installation of harbor and navigation lights, which are usually executed as the final tasks of the project.

Meanwhile, MTCC has reported that the project value is a total of MVR40.7 million.
