MTCC on Monday, 06 September, confirmed on ongoing dredging operations of the new harbor’s basin at Shaviyani atoll Feydhoo.
According to the contractor, the dredging works of the new basin is currently at 97% completion. Meanwhile, MTCC had further attested on delivering the first shipment of rock boulders to the project site on 04 September, Saturday.
Moreover, the rock boulders will be utilized to the construction of the breakwater structure which will measure 378 meters upon completion.
The scope of work of the island’s harbor development project include dredging and excavation operations of 27,500 cubic meters along with the construction of harbor structures.
Furthermore, the harbor structures include the breakwater construction along with a revetment measuring 90 meters and a quay wall measuring 276 meters.
In addition to this, the harbor project include construction of a paved area spanning 1,380 square meters along the harbor site and the installation of both street and navigation lights.
Meanwhile, MTCC had further confirmed that the project value is a total of MVR33.1 million.
