State revenues increase to MVR12.2bn, deficit stretches to MVR7.1bn

As per the latest Weekly Fiscal Developments from Ministry of Finance the cumulative total of state revenues reached MVR12,208.0 million (MVR12.2 billion).

Moreover, as of 09 September 2021 the cumulative total of state expenditure reached MVR19,326.7 million (MVR19.3 billion).

Furthermore, the expenditure composition reveals 78% of the total spent towards recurrent expenses and 22% on capital requirements. On the other hand, 73% of the total revenues came from tax sources and the remaining 27% from non-tax sources.

Meanwhile, the overall balance for the review period is a deficit of MVR7,118.7 million (MVR7.1 billion).

The net issuance for the review week from 05 to 09 September was a surplus of MVR3,080.0 million and External Islamic instruments of another MVR3,080.0 million were issued.

In addition to this, the cumulative total of tax revenues by the review period reached MVR8,957.5 million (MVR8.96 billion) while the cumulative total of non-tax revenues reached MVR2,857.0 million (MVR2.86 billion).
