Telecom Giant, Dhiraagu has earned MVR 898 million as profits in 2017.
Dhiraagu’s 2017 financial report revealed that the company earned MVR 2.6 billion last year. The company had MVR 1 billion as profit after tax of MVR 160 million.
Last year, Dhiraagu earned MVR 898 million in gross profit compared to MVR 840 million in 2016.
The company is paying out a dividend of MVR 11.81 per share.
Dhiraagu CEO Ismail Rasheed stated that the company earned record amount in profits last year, adding that the company gained in terms of profits as well as customers.
He stated that there was a nine percent increase in mobile customers’ percentage, and that fixed broadband increased by 18 percent. To add to that, the company also provided fibre broadband service to 20 islands last year, according to Ismail.
Ismail stated that the introduction of DhiraaguTV and Dhiraagu Pay changed their branding in 2017.
