STELCO reveals plans of assembling electric cars for Maldives market

The State Electric Company (STELCO) has revealed its most ambitious plan so far; assembling electric cars specific to the Maldives market.

Moreover, the announcement was made officially at the opening ceremony of the ‘STEWO’ Workshop, which is conducted to offer full-suite engineering solutions to all power system needs.

STELCO confirmed that the workshop services include assembly, servicing, cleaning and modification of generators.

The workshop was officially inaugurated by Minister of Economic Development Mr. Fayyaz Ismail and STELCO’s Managing Director Mr. Hassan Mughnee. Mr. Mughnee, while speaking at the ceremony commended the workshop’s engineers.

As such, the STELCO front-man noted the engineers were exceptionally talented and experienced.

Furthermore, speaking at the ceremony Mr. Mughnee revealed the company’s ambitious plan of electric cars in the future, which will be a prospective project of STELCO to propel eco-friendly vehicles in the Maldives.
