Maldives President instructs to use “Golden Year of Tourism” logo in govt. office correspondences

Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has instructed to use the “Golden Year of Tourism 2022” logo in all government office correspondences effective from 01 January 2022.

The “Golden Year of Tourism 2022” logo will be used to commemorate the golden jubilee of the Maldives tourism industry, which will be celebrating 50 years of success in the following year.

The tourism industry in Maldives began in 1972 with the debut of Kurumba Maldives, the very first tourist resort in the island nation.

Meanwhile, over the past five decades the island nation’s tourism industry has observed vibrant growth with more than 150 resorts operational currently.

Moreover, the tourism industry of Maldives is generally accepted as the most major economic sector of the country.

The “Golden Year of Tourism” logo was launched earlier on March 2021, by the Ministry of Tourism to be used extensively across government offices and in tourism related events in the following year.

Moreover, the logo will be used in various tourism destination promotion activities and events of the Maldives held both domestically and internationally in 2022.
