Russia’s leisure airline; Nordwind launches their direct flight operations to the Maldives as per their earlier announcement, amid the winter season.
The expansion of global airline network to the Maldives has coincided with the tourism peak season in the island nation which usually follows from December until March.
Moreover, the airline started their direct flight operations in association with Maldivian tour operator firm Resort Life.
Nordwind’s maiden flight made landing at Velana International Airport (VIA) on Sunday, 26 December 2021 and received a warm welcome in the form of a water salute by MACL.
The airline reportedly will operate between St. Petersburg and Maldives capital Male’ City weekly on Sundays.
Furthermore, Nordwind affirms that its passengers can enjoy their flights between Moscow and Male’ City with the convenient transfer in Pulkovo Airport. In addition to this, the airline will reportedly use their Airbus A330-300 aircraft for their Maldivian direct flight operations.
Founded in 2008, Russia’s Nordwind has a fleet capacity of 42 aircraft while it operates to a total of 98 destinations in 28 countries, including 9 countries and 23 cities in Europe.
