Two resorts with Universal shares sold

A total of two local tourist resorts with shares of Universal Resorts have been sold to new proprietors.

It was reported that the islands of Kaafu atoll Furanafushi and Alif Alif atoll Fesdhoo, two resorts owned by Universal and Starwood; a subsidiary of the leading international hotelier chain, Marriott, have found new proprietors.

Luxury resort Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is currently run on the island of Furanafushi and W Maldives on Fesdhoo.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Tourism has announced to report to the authority if any parties to whom debts are owed, or has any discrepancies or any affiliated issues related to the islands.

Any and all debts and issues originating due to stakes in the islands must be communicated to the ministry in writing or via mail within a period of 14 days from 09 May 2022.
