Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) unveils 15 new double-decker bus additions to its RTL fleet.
The new vehicles were officially unveiled during a special ceremony held on Wednesday evening, June 15, by Maldives President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Meanwhile, the transport and contracting company affirms the new additions will be put into operation effective from Thursday, June 16.
MTCC acquired additional vehicles into its RTL bus fleet in a bid to expand travel operations within the Greater Male’ region and improve travel frequency to Hulhumale’ Phase II.
Residents living in Hulhumale’ Phase II has faced exhaustive waiting durations between bus trip intervals, which MTCC reports will be resolved with the introduction of two new travel routes within the Greater Male’ region.
The state-owned enterprise affirms on reducing travel duration from Male’ west-end to Hulhumale’ Phase II to 15 minutes during peak hours and to 20 minutes during off-peak hours.
With its new addition of buses, MTCC’s Raajje Travel Link (RTL) fleet capacity expands to 46 vehicles.
