Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) reports completing the ferry hut in Haa Dhaal atoll Makunudhoo, on July 20, 2022.
The contracting company hopeful on the utilization of the hut, notes that the new establishment is an addition to the larger-scope of Raajje-Transport Link (RTL) services.
Project components include development of a kiosk, waiting area for passengers and a universal toilet venue.
Earlier, MTCC initiated ferry services under the RTL integrated public transportation network in two of the northern-most atolls; Haa Alif and Haa Dhaal.
Geographically, Makunudhoo lies the furthest in Haa Dhaal atoll, bordering closer to Shaviyani atoll.
With MTCC’s public transportation network progressing apace, less traveled islands such as Makunudhoo stand to benefit through island-connectivity.
