Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) has warned that it will take action against higher education institution that are in violation of its accreditation regulations.

The authority has been receiving complaints that higher education institutions were conducting authorised programs in violation of R-77/2022 Program Accreditation Regulation, MQA said in a public notice on Thursday.

MQA noted that educational institutions were advertising e-learning modality courses despite not having permission to conduct the course online.

These programs will not be accepted by the MQA, it warned, noting that the announcement is for the goodwill of students and the public that would be affected by it.

MQA, which is an accreditation board for post-secondary qualifications, works to assure quality of educational courses provided in the Maldives.
