Maldives Journalist Association (MJA) selected new executive committee members on Saturday.
In MJA’s annual meeting held at STELCO’s conference hall, members of the association cast their ballot to select executive committee. This includes two new slots created specifically for women, after an amendment to MJA’s general articles of association.
The new executive committee members are:
President, Ali Rifshan from One Online
Vice President, Mohamed Yamin from Vaguthu Online
Secretary General, Ahmed Naaif from Dhauru
Budget Secretary, Nazim Hassan from Adhadhu
General members’ representative, Mohamed Muzayyin Nazim from Dhauru
Women’s Exclusive Post, Asima Nizar from Mihaaru
Women’s exclusive post, Aishath Nuzuha from Adhadhu
The new executive committee will take over the responsibilities of the running of MJA starting from 15th September. A total of 78 local journalists took part in the hybrid-meeting.
