Maldivians traveling to Kazakhstan will be exempted from visa effective from September 14, 2022, reports Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The ministry confirms this exemption allows Maldivians holding valid diplomatic, official and even ordinary passports to enter and stay in Kazakhstan for a period of 30 days from the date of entry. This is in accordance with the visa exemption agreement signed between Maldives and Kazakhstan earlier on May 9, 2022.
Maldivians intending to stay in Kazakhstan exceeding the exempt duration for the purposes of work, or education, or business must obtain the proper visa prior to travel.
Maldives government views this arrangement as a “commitment to further strengthen the bilateral relations between” Maldives and Kazakhstan. Moreover, the agreement is viewed as an “important milestone that will facilitate stronger people to people contact, business and investment opportunities” between the two countries.
