Local domestic airline Manta Air has temporarily suspended its flight operations to Addu City.

The airline revealed that flights were suspended in order to conduct maintenance work on the ATR aircraft in its fleet, which is being transferred abroad for maintenance one by one.

Manta Air highlighted that its capacity made it necessary to halt some flight operations during the maintenance period, adding that flights to Addu will resume by December.

Flights to Addu by Manta Air began on February 2022, with the airline currently operating scheduled flights to three airports in the Maldives which include Dhaalu Airport, Dharavandhoo Airport, and Gan International Airport.

It launched charter flights to Hoarafushi Airport on September 5 under an agreement with JA Manafaru Maldives Resort.

Manta Air operates three ATR aircraft and a Beechcraft for domestic flights and 11 seaplanes in its fleet.
