MPL launches community fund worth MVR 600,000

Maldives Ports Limited has launched a community fund to assist  strengthening the overall living conditions in the community.

The fund was launched in commemoration of MPL’s 36th anniversary, and is worth MVR 600,000.

MPL said the fund will be utilized to provide assistance to those in need, and to improve the overall living conditions in the community. The fund will further help build a satisfying and comfortable environment.

The community fund will provide financial assistance to projects under two categories. First category, MVR 400,000 will be divided among 8 projects that have been in operation for no longer than 3 months. Second category, MVR 200,000 is allocated for 2 projects, each project to be awarded MVR 100,000, that have been in operation for 3-12 months.

Community-based organisations, civic organisations, aid or charitable organizations as well as club organizations can apply for the Community Fund. MPL said priority will be given to plans submitted for the financial plan and sustainability of the project.
