State Electric Company (STELCO) has fixed the leaky outflow pipe situated at the main outer road near STELCO power station.
The pipe ruptured earlier, pouring water into the road that resulted in public nuisance.
The utility provider confirmed on Monday evening, that the leakage was fixed and it was currently attempting to seal the dug area. STELCO will fill the area with concrete and level it with the outer main road.
The pipe is one out of the many outflow pipes used by STELCO in the engine cooling system. The utility provider commenced repairs sometime during last week.
Meanwhile, STELCO Managing Director Ahmed Shareef has confirmed the delays were due to Male’ City Council’s non-responsiveness to provide permission to seal the road for repair works.
