Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) secures the World’s Leading Tourist Board title at the 29th edition of World Travel Awards (WTA), held this year.
MMPRC competed against a total of 28 global tourist boards for the title.
This also marks the very first time Maldives has achieved the title of “World’s Leading Tourism Board” at the event.
Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) CEO and Managing Director Mr. Thoyyib Mohamed, accepted the award at the WTA Grand Final Gala, held at Al Bustan Palace, Ritz-Carlton, Oman on Friday evening, November 11.
The win for MMPRC as the Leading Tourist Board comes after beating other notable global boards such as Incredible India and Visit England among others.
MMPRC has already conducted a total of 149 various tourism and destination promotion activities in 22 global markets, during the first three quarters of 2022. The top tourism promoter of the Maldives targeted travel trades and consumers alike, with a collective reach over 8.6 billion through all of the endeavors.
A key focus for the tourism promoter this year has been to maintain brand visibility in the global markets. Additionally, apart from promoting Maldives as a premier luxury destination, MMPRC communicated their tourism messages to build confidence in Maldives as a tourist destination.
