MMPRC hosts roadshow series in the UK

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) kicked off a series of roadshows on Wednesday, November 9 at United Kingdom.

The series, titled “Connect with Maldives, Your Ultimate Destination” is conducted by MMPRC as part of its efforts to maintain destination momentum and promote the destination in the UK market.

The first in the roadshow series kicked off on November 9, at London where MMPRC took part in the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2022.

MMPRC held the second of the roadshow series in Manchester a day later, on November 10, Thursday. The final venue of the roadshow series was held on Friday, November 11 at Newcastle.

The ‘Connect with Maldives, Your Ultimate Destination’ roadshow series also aims to strengthen Maldives’ relations with the UK travel trade. The series will “familiarize with all things Maldivian in order to increase bookings and arrivals from” the UK market.

MMPRC is joined by a total of 12 industry partners for the roadshow in London, and 11 partners for the roadshows held in both Manchester and Newcastle. The tourism promoters fully utilized the events to market and advertise various tourism products of the Maldives.

Traditionally, UK has been one of the top source markets to the Maldives. It is ranked third currently in 2022, as of November 22 with 147,535 annual arrivals to the island nation.
