The design of the new Toyota Prius set for a 2023 unveiling leaves top-notch automobile designer Ralph Giles impressed.
Branded as a the ‘Ugly Duckling’ of the automotive world, Toyota’s Prius line has had its fair share of critiques and outright haters. But that is about to change as everyone knows what happens in the classic Ugly Duckling.
That’s right, it is now time for Toyota’s Prius to become the swam it deserves. The fifth generation car comes back with “an all-new beautiful design”
Giles, who is noted for his more than direct contributions to the creation of four-wheeled beauties like the Chrysler 300 or the 2014 Dodge SRT Viper had this to say on his official Instagram handle about the new Prius;
“Hats off to the designers at Toyota… the new Prius is simply beautiful. Design matters.”
The designer led Dodge throughout its Hellcat era riding into the new age of the contemporary Stellantis variants.
On the looks department, the new Prius’ hood has a “hint of Toyota’s Corolla hatchback about it before rising into a rounded-off variation of the traditional 3-box design.” By the rear light cluster, a “stylized horizontal body crease adorns the reader fender” which is reminiscent of the Ferrari FF.
The 2023 Toyota Prius, unveiled in Japan earlier this year, comes with either a 1.8 or 2.0 liter four-cylinder engine, with the notoriety of achieving 0-62 miles per hour in 6.7 seconds.
