Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) will reportedly put the freshly minted MVR 50 currency notes, bearing the new currency sign, to use in December 2022.
According to the central bank of the country, the new currency notes will be put to circulation effective from December 01, 2022. Both the new mints and previous MVR 50 notes will remain in circulation.
The currency sign will appear on the upper-left corner of the note’s front, while it will appear on the upper-right corner of the back along with the currency value, reports MMA.
Current governor of the Maldives Ali Hashim bore signature for the fresh mints.
