Maldivian is set to commence airbus services to Addu City Gan International Airport, during the school holidays.
Island Aviation will conduct eight trips to Gan aboard the Airbus A320. The objective is to enable as many people as possible to travel between Male’ City and Addu City.
According to Island Aviation, the decision to increase flights was made since many are expected to leave during the period – based on ticket purchases. Flights will be operated on December 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and 30, as well as January 5 and 7, 2023. Airbus flights will operate to Gan and back during evenings. The Male’-Gan flight will depart from Velana International Airport at 1925 hrs. The Gan-Male’ flight will depart from Gan International Airport at 2135 hrs.
Schools will be closed for the first semester of this year on the December 23. The second semester will start on January 8, 2023.
There are usually 4-5 flights every day to Gan. Maldivian has recently increased its flights to regions other than Gan during the holiday season. To fulfill demand during the holidays, Maldivian has also brought in an ATR aircraft.
