Kaani Hotels has disbursed a total of USD75,600 (MVR1.1 million) in service charges for December 2022.
The guesthouse operator confirmed paying USD 420 (MVR6,476) per employee. It had disbursed service charge payout to all 180 of its staff. This marks the highest recorded service charge given by a local guesthouse in the Maldives. Earlier in November 2022, the guesthouse operator paid USD 370 (MVR5,705) per staff in service charges.
With this payout, Kaani Hotels has paid a service charge pay higher than the average service charge pay of most Maldivian resorts.
Speaking about this achievement the Chairman of Kaani Hotels and current president of the Guesthouse Association of Maldives (GAM) Abdulla Nasheed said the company’s revenues grew during the past two months. He adds the performances of all of the company’s properties are currently better than pre-Covid.
“We are hoping service charge pay for the next month will be even better,” Nasheed said.
The guesthouse operator generally pays between USD250 to USD300 in service charges, while most of the guesthouses operated in K. Maafushi pay in similar ranges.
Kaani Hotels operate four properties in K. Maafushi; the guesthouse central of the Maldives, a 26-beds property in Male’ City, and a 250-beds city hotel in AA. Ukulhas.
