MMPRC promotes Maldives at FITUR 2023

Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) along with industry partners are marketing the ‘Sunny Side of Life’ at the FITUR 2023.

The event kicked off on January 18 and will last until January 22. This year’s FITUR is hosted at IFEMA Madrid’s Recinto Ferial.

This also marks the first major travel trade event MMPRC is taking part in this year.

Fitur brings together global travel agencies, wholesalers, hotels and accommodations, carriers, and leisure and culture infrastructures. Additionally, the travel trade event attracts Spanish official organizations and travel media.

The event offers “excellent business opportunities and access to qualified and relevant travel buyers, influencers, and market professionals”.

MMPRC reports over 41 representatives from 23 companies are taking part in the event to market their individual products, services, and experiences. MMPRC itself is promoting the different experiences available in the Maldives.

The premier tourism promoter of the Maldives said its primary objective in participating in the fair is to create awareness among Spanish visitors about the products and experiences available in the tropical island destination. MMPRC also aims to create a platform to connect with industry professionals from the Spanish market.

At the event, MMPRC is running a raffle at the Maldives’ stand which will be held on the first, third, fourth, and fifth day with one winner selected each day. The raffle giveaway is sponsored by some of the top resorts in the Maldives which include; Adaaran Select Hudhuranfushi, Sun Siyam Resorts, Brennia Maldives, and Angsana Velavaru.

In addition to the Fitur travel trade fair, MMPRC will be promoting the Maldives through OOH Advertising in Spain along with other campaigns with top tour operators and online travel agents. Additionally, MMPRC will host familiarization trips for Spanish journalists and media to experience the Maldives firsthand.

Spain is among the top 10 markets in terms of annual arrivals to the Maldives. The Maldives Ministry of Tourism reported a total of 42,148 annual arrivals from the market in 2022.
