Island Aviation seeks bidders to develop Maafaru International Airport terminal

Island Aviation is seeking interested bidders to develop a passenger terminal at Maafaru International Airport, N. Maafaru.

The airport’s operator is seeking Maldivian developers for the project. Interested bidders must register for the bidding before 12:00 pm on February 12, 2023.

Island Aviation earlier contracted Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) for the expansion of the airport’s runway. MTCC will be expanding the existing runway from 2.2 kilometers to 2.85 kilometers, and the project is valued at MVR 27.1 million.

Maafaru International Airport first began its operations in 2019. The airport often attracts private jets carrying affluent travelers who visit the nearby top-end tourist resorts.
