Regional Airports Company Limited (RACL) has announced over 40 new jobs at GDh. Faresmaathoda Airport.
RACL said it was seeking candidates for a total of 45 jobs including airport managers, operations and administrative officers, and supervisors. Additional jobs include support service fields such as maintenance, security, and firefighters.
Interested applicants must submit the necessary documents before February 20.
Faresmaathoda Airport is scheduled to open in March 2023. Meanwhile, Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC), the project contractor, said that over 90% of the work is now complete.
The airport development project includes subgrade and sub-base works on the runway, the development of an apron, a fire pad, and a fire road. Additionally, MTCC has developed a passenger terminal, a fire building, and a 1,200-meter runway.
The contractor is also working on completing the bridge structure that will connect the airport with the mainland.
Maldives government contracted the project to MTCC in November 2020 at a project cost of MVR 145 million. The project duration is one year and eight months; however, due to delays in procuring necessary materials, the project progress stretched beyond the contracted duration.
