Housing flats under Male’ Water and Sewerage Company’s (MWSC) Hiya housing project in Hulhumale’ Phase 2 have been awarded 192 of its employees.
The housing tower consists of 60 three-bedroom flats, 40 1+2 bedroom flats, and 92 one-bedroom flats. The 15-storey tower was constructed by China’s 23 Metallurgical Construction Group Co., Ltd. of Maintenance.
Apart from residential housing units, the building comes with a designated children’s area, shop, and a parking lot.
MWSC Managing Director Hassan Shah said that the recipients of the flats may take loans through Maldives Islamic Bank (MIB) to facilitate their payments.
The housing flats were officially opened by the Minister of the President’s Office Ahmed Sameer.
“I would like to ask the Chairman of the Board of MWSC and the management to provide special arrangements for the remaining employees to get housing within the company’s policies,” Sameer said.
