The Maldives government has fixed hours permitted for logistical services during Ramadan this year.
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation prohibited logistical services between 16:30hrs and 20:00hrs every evening during the Islamic holy month. The ministry further stated that any party found operating during the prohibited hours will be fined MVR750 per offense.
The ministry permitted logistical services between 09:00hrs and 16:30hrs and again from 20:00hrs until 06:00hrs. The authority has also allowed transportation of goods across Sinamale’ Bridge between 09:00hrs and 16:00hrs and again between 01:00hrs and 06:00hrs.
In addition to this, the supply of cooking gas and water is permitted between 20:00hrs and 06:00hrs, and during this period transportation of these goods is allowed across the bridge.
The government sets logistical service hours every Ramadan to ensure traffic is controlled in Male’ City.
