The Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with UNDP Maldives launched the “Blue Seal” certification program.
The program was launched on Wednesday last week, March 15, 2023, during the function held to mark the completion of the Re-imagining Tourism Project at L. Fonadhoo. The program was launched by the Minister of Tourism Dr. Abdulla Mausoom and UNDP Resident Representattive Enrico Gaveglia.
The “Blue Seal” is an electronic badge provided as a recognition and encouragement to the guesthouses for their sustainable tourism development initiatives.
Under the program, guesthouses will be recognized for their efforts to sustain environment, community engagement, and HR development through tourism business.
The seals launched on 2023 has validity until 2026 and comes in Standard Blue Seal, Silver Blue Seal, and Gold Blue Seal.
