Leading telecommunication provider in the Maldives, Dhiraagu announces GudiFest (Kite Fest) on April 01, 2023.
The kite sailing festival will be held at Male’ Usfasgandu from 16:00hrs until 18:00hrs. The festival is held by Dhiraagu in collaboration with Male’ City Council.
“Gudi”, the local word for kite, is part of the rich contemporary culture of the Maldivian identity. Every year, parents take their kids out to various public venues to fly and sail their impressive-looking kites, make them soar in the sky and at times compete with fellow kite runners as well. Through the GudiFest, the company hopes to rekindle the excitement children and adults have towards this cultural tradition.
