The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) officially rebrands as Urbanco.
The new corporate identity was unveiled during the ceremony held to commemorate the company’s 22nd anniversary.
“We have unveiled our corporation’s new identity as we head towards redefinition and building a world of better tomorrows for the people of Maldives”, said Urbanco.
The company-wide and holistic makeover meant that its main headquarters in Hulhumale’ have already dropped the previous name-plate in favor of its new title.
The Housing Development Corporation (HDC) was established in 2001 to resolve the overpopulation issue in Male’ City and shift residential housing to Hulhumale’. The corporation has been at the forefront of the satellite town’s transformative journey for over two decades, which includes multiple social and commercial housing complexes, residential buildings, commercial avenues, and other initiatives.
Following the complete overhaul of the corporation, Urbanco said is planning to expand its work portfolio outside of the Greater Male’ region.
Besides the complete management of Hulhumale’; infrastructural and commercial included, Urbanco is also responsible for the development of Thilafushi Phase 2 project.
