Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) on Saturday, April 8, mobilized equipment for the project sites in K. Maafushi and K. Gulhi.
MTCC will be expanding the existing harbor in Maafushi while it will reclaim additional land in Gulhi.
Maafushi Harbor Expansion Project
- New Harbor Basin Dredging: 63,711 cubic meters
- Maintenance Dredging: 28,836 cubic meters
- Channel Dredging: 4,414 cubic meters
- Construction of breakwater: 31 meters
- Revetment: 64 meters
- Geo-bag Revetment: 700 meters
- Quay Wall: 374 meters
- Construction of two concrete jetties: 160 x 2 meters each
- Concrete bridge connecting the breakwater and the harbor: 19 x 3 meters
- Harbor Pavement: 1,869 square meters
- Installation of harbor lights
- Project Value: MVR 76.48 million
- Duration: 1.5 years
Gulhi Land Reclamation Project
- Land Reclamation: 10.15 hectares
- Rock-boulder Revetment: 940 meters
- Geo-bag Revetment: 362 meters
- Rock-boulder Groyne: 88 meters
- Project Value: MVR 82.99 million
